Pyrex Measuring Cups 1 Quart Measuring Cup

I have had my Pyrex Measuring 1 Quart Cup for years, and it looks just like it did the day I received it.

I love to cook, bake make candy, can, and preserve. My 1 quart Pyrex cup comes in handy for everything. We measure out our strawberries and then sugar for our homemade freezer jam. I like to fill it twice for the sugar, and once for the strawberries.

The measurements are in red lettering and by standard measurements in 1/3 cup 2/3, 1 cup, to 4 cups (only in 1/3 cup measurements) and no measurements under 1 cup so you will have to use other measuring cups for smaller sizes, on the opposite side they are listed in metric, from 200 to 1000 ml.

Pyrex is made of non-porous glass, and you can see through your measuring cup while measuring, this comes in handy anything but especially when measuring 2 ingredients, when measuring water and oil, or water and Crisco, you can do them both at the same time, just add you amount of water needed and then your oil or Crisco. Saves on having to dirty another measuring cup(this technique was taught to me in Home Economics years ago).

Pyrex is microwaveable safe. I like to make small batches of applesauce in my “Pyrex 1 Quart Measuring Cup”(I make my applesauce in the microwave and on top the stove, so I have 2 batches going at once). It has a nice handle that you can slide your hand through for carrying or pouring. The handle usually is not hot, by I always have a pot holder on hand in case.

Oven safe: You can also bake in it, I have made dressing for the holidays, baked custard pie filling, and melting butter, chocolate chips, mints and more. I like to have somethings in the oven and in the microwave so the kitchen doesn’t get so hot.

I have used my “Pyrex 1 Quart Measuring Cup” for measuring liquids, solids like Crisco, sugars, for whipping whip cream, cake mixes, puddings, scrambled eggs, squash, baked apples for 2, and cooking tomatoes tomato sauce (it does not stain) and so much more.

Pyrex is also dishwasher safe. I don’t use the dishwasher much as the Pyrex is so smooth and easy to clean.

Extra uses: my plants, and emergency having to add water to our car’s radiator. You can also store left overs in Pyrex, or pancake/waffle mix (as it does not take on the taste of the food in the cup), you didn’t totally use up, and want to have fresh waffles in the morning.

This measuring cup has stood the test of time, it has been dropped, gone from cold to hot, used beaters, wire wisk, potato mashers, forks. There are no scratches, or chips. Like I said at the beginning it looks as good as when I received it.

Recommendation: I definitely recommend the “Pyrex 1 Quart Measuring Cup”, and any other size measuring cup as well as any bakeware that is made by Pyrex. This is my life long Pal.

Pros: see through compared to Tupperware or other brands microwave, dishwasher and oven safe, standard and metric measurements. Stands the test of time.

Cons: I don’t have any, well I could say can’t use on the stove burners.Cost: Gift (they do run between $6.75 – $8.95)
